Low-Carbohydrate Approaches for People with Type 2 Diabetes

Type 2 Diabetes is a frequent and serious problem facing the global population but can be particularly prevalent in Western nations, such as the UK.

In this course, produced for the British Society of Lifestyle Medicine Learning Academy by Dr Sean Wheatley and Dr Trudi Deakin, both of X-PERT Health, in conjunction with Dr David Unwin, a GP based in the North-West of England we begin by exploring the current rates of obesity and long-term health conditions, to provide a wider context.

The need for effective interventions is then discussed, including potential consequences if they are not implemented. Finally, the role of lifestyle medicine as part of the solution, in the context of a low carbohydrate dietary approach in particular, is then introduced.

This course has been accredited by BSLM as providing 5 hours of CPD.
